Wednesday Words
To Go Where Your VisionPoints, a few inspiration points for you and your business.
It is true that no one can harm the person who wears armor. But no one can help him, either.
—Kristin Hunter
I’m thinking she meant life and love here. I mean work and business, and if you’re the owner of a smaller business, you know what I’m talking about. You want to hold up your corner of the world. You want to seem bulletproof. So you pile on the protection. You’re powerful, knowledgeable, Super-preneur. Fully armored.
Need help? Get some. Not sure if you need help? (Who, at some point, on some topic, doesn’t fall into that category?) Read a book or a blog; write an email to someone who can offer advice; hire a consultant for a few hours.
How hard is it for you to ask for help at your place of business, when you’re fully armored, ready to “take on” the world?
Grow and be well,

Seriously, is it Wednesday already? What happened to Tuesday? Thank God for Wednesday Words so I can re-position myself and get focused in this whirlwind schedule I am on right now…
It’s not that hard…
Anymore…But it used to be. I used to have that big *S* glued to my chest. SUPER MOM, SUPER BUSINESS OWNER, SUPER WIFE, SUPER FRIEND…
until they all morphed into one big SUPER BURN OUT.
So I peeled that off and glued on a big *H*
it stands for HELP!!!!!

Wendi,
Seriously, if I didn’t write WW myself I’d lose track, especially lately. Whew.
I love the “H”! I want a blue t-shirt with it emblazoned on in red and gold like the not-quite-super Woman that I am. “Help!” That’s perfect.
Me, I’m good at asking in some situations, but oh, in others, I so like my cozy, protective armor. I’ve had this quotation stashed a long time and it’s a good thing—I have to remind myself of this one plenty.
Regards,
Kelly

“Pity the Man who wears a suit of armor, for how shall he answer the call of Nature?”
- Sir Osis of the Liver
(Nyuck! Nyuck! Nyuck!)
No, seriously. What did they do back then, when they had to go poop? (Maybe I don’t WANNA know!)

To Sir, With Love,
They went first, like their mothers taught them. “Sir Osis, did you remember to go potty before you got ready for the Crusades?”
“I’ll go now, Mom.”
“Don’t forget to wash your hands.”
“But Mom, the river’s a half a mile away!”
Did you notice some crickets chirping around here today? Seems the thought of being a teeny bit vulnerable has MCE readers running for the hills….
Until later,
Kelly

I was just going to say, CommentLuv really hates you, and then I clicked. Go ahead, silly Friar, click on your name.

Vulnerability is my middle name!
(Actually it’s Flett, but let’s pretend otherwise).

Alex,
Flett? Now you have to come back and explain. Please tell me there’s some heartwarming family significance and your parents aren’t just mean.
Mine’s Anne, but my maiden name begins with an F. Let me tell you, growing up with the initials KAF (say it out loud if you don’t see the problem) make you want to order a new set of armor and quick!
Until later,
Kelly

My initials are AFF - fortunately nothing bad given my last name.
Flett is my Scottish grandmother’s maiden name. My father has it as one of his middle names. It means “witch” in Old Norse and comes from the Orkney Islands (Yes Brett it’s a good Viking name). My full name (might) mean The Protector of the Witch of the Beech Tree - the only iffy part is the Beech Tree - they aren’t really sure of its origins…

I was hoping some ancestor had saddled you with it. Gives you an excuse.
Plus, I am very into name meanings, and when you put it all together that is a very cool, powerful name. Nice!
