Everybody Does
You can’t deny it. You put things off, you make excuses, you let you get in the way of being your best you, right now. Goodness knows, so do I.
Alex Fayle calls it “Someday Syndrome.”
I was recently interviewed by Alex for his famed Someday Syndrome Interview series, where I had to dig deep to explore the ways I’ve held myself back. I’m excited to have you join me at his blog today, to read all about my battles with Someday Syndrome.
Thanks, Alex, I was honored to do it.
No.
Scratch that, folks, I was terrified. To do this interview justice is to bare more than I usually like to. Another veil dropped!
If you must know, in the subject line of my email answering Alex’s request, I wrote:
“Ack! Someday Syndrome Interview.”
In the end, I had a wonderful time getting naked with Alex. I hope you’ll enjoy the results.

P.S. While you’re there, please consider signing up for Alex’s brand-new Someday newsletter. I did, because he’s got great plans for kicking my butt with his special brand of do-it-now wisdom in the Someday News. And it’s free! (Which, in case you’re wondering, means this recommendation is entirely because I think Alex rocks. Free, gratis=nothing in it for me.)

Yay to Kelly! Your interview was so awesome to receive. I was eager to share it with the rest of the world.
BTW, rockin’ new photo – I LOVE the hair, really brings out your cheekbones and your eyes.

Alex,
Thanks, and thanks again! Didn’t I promise I’d take care of that Someday Hair as soon as I took care of a little rest?
(When you wander over to Someday Syndrome, dear reader—and after you read the interview of course, serious matters first—click on the photo to enlarge it. Then this sillyness will make more sense.)
I’m looking forward to hanging out at SS for today, Alex!

Kelly

Oooh, and I LOVE your blouse, too!

NOOOOOOOO … getting naked with Alex. He’s my brother for crying out loud! Bad bad imagery!
Excuse me while I go wash my eye balls.
12 January 2009, 10:47 am
@Panther
Oh, come ON!!!
Surely, you don’t think your brother has never done anything “naughty”.

Wendi,
Thanks. I try all the time, but sometimes… I try more. I think Alex’s SS interview is a lot to live up to. Lucky me for getting to take a whack at it.
Friar,
I totally wish you meant that. Turkey. Thanks for being a delightful thorn in my side. I couldn’t do without you.
Panther,
Um, yeah, sorry about that. It’s a metaphorical thing. He’s unbearably gorgeous, of course, but from what I hear, quite taken.
Until later,
Kelly

@Friar:
That’s NOT the right sort of naughtiness. No offense Kelly, love the hair and eyes but the anatomy is just all wrong…

Alex,
LOL. I wasn’t even going to go there. Nossir, “taken” is all I said.
Still, when you love the hair and eyes, I know you really mean it. And when I say you’re too gorgeous for words… you know I mean it. Nice genes you Fayles have.

Kelly

@Alex
Well, I meant “naughty”, in general.

Okay, that’s even funnier.
Friar, are you blushing?

@Kelly
Oh, nothing on this blog makes me blush any more….I’m used to it!

*shakes head, wondering where her serious blog went…*
LOL. I feel about the same way.

@Kelly
Yeah…but tell me you didn’t ENCOURAGE me to be a sh*t disturber today (with your email last night!)

My Dearest Friar,
I *always* encourage you to be a sh*t disturber. Because it’s who you are. I’ll admit, I love it when you get serious here—you have a great point of view—but I have to wrack my brain to remember who you are!
‘Cept you don’t need my encouragement, so I’m wasting my keystrokes by encouraging you. You’re incorrigible.

I am laughing too hard to paint…. stop that…silly geese. Sheesh just into between strokes on the painting waiting for some paint to dry… now rolling on floor laughing.

Janice,
Geese? Did somebody say geese?
Oh, I am wrecking my own blog today. Fun.
Alex,
You have caused me so many smiles today! I hope you’re happy, as you drift off to sleep, safe in España!

@Kelly
Now that we’re totally derailed, off-topic, did you have any names for your two geese?
May I suggest Honky and Hissy?

Well, I have a friend (not saying who…). He thought they were named Jamie and Harry.
Then I pointed out that Harry is a desert goose, not a Canadian goose.
Now that you mention it, they might be named Brett and Friar…
but who gets to watch the eggs?
You, sir, are getting me in more trouble than I can find on my own.
12 January 2009, 7:25 pm
This is too funny. Silliness abounds. And all this because Kelly got naked with Alex and somebody took pictures.

Todd,
Agreed! If there is one thing this serious blog is good at attracting, it’s sillyness.
There go my search engine results again…
