To Go Where Your VisionPoints, a few inspiration points for you and your business.
La inspiración existe, pero tiene que encontrarte trabajando.
[Inspiration exists, but it must find you working.]
—Pablo Picasso
Inspiration points work a lot better if you put a little muscle behind them.

My version of that would be: You can’t expect your Muse to do all the work, can you?

Yes, it’s all the hard work that goes in before you get into the shower that attracts the lightning bolt…

Alex,
Exactly. My muse just massages my shoulders, so I have the strength to go on. I have to do the work!
Graham,
Ouch?

They say that Mozart worked when inspiration struck.
And that Beethoven worked until inpiration struck.
Mozart was a once in a millenium kind if guy.
The rest of us are Beethoven.

Francis,
I never heard that before!
I might settle for being Beethoven. Not too bad a gig, to be remembered forever! But I’m a Schubert fan, myself.
Todd,
Ah, yes. That’s another favorite. It lets you know that all the midnight oils you burn are for a good reason.
Until later,

I think Picasso’s paintings stink. But yeah, I guess he tried, didn’t he…
I wonder though, are we really all Beethoven, or have we just not found our audience yet (or they haven’t found us?)
I’m not knocking either of them, of course – maybe what I’m saying is that there are many unknown musicians who work very, very hard, much harder than a pop princess like Britney Spears, and yet the small musicians will not go anywhere, while Little Miss No-Talent lives in a mansion, and every time she farts people clap.

Brett,
Well, I’ll disagree on Picasso (art’s like that, eh?), but on Who Gets Famous, I’m right there. Actually, I have a post coming up shortly on just that subject!
Many of Picasso’s ramblings are very deep, however you see his painting.

Oh, *come on*, Friar’s way better than Picasso.
Friar’s donuts actually look like donuts, for instance!
Seriously, though, I agree Picasso had talent, but if I want something deep I’m more likely to look at a Giger piece (always liked the Alien thing…)
