Having just had a look at your site and a listen to a few (great) snippets, I’d say INDAMAN or KS39BYE ought to be on your car. I really like your work!

Then again, who wouldn’t think FUNSTER was a perfect vanity plate.

I agree about Die Hard. If they’re going to out the movie on, put it on. The stuff they’ll let through is the worse stuff for young folks to be seeing, anyway. So put it on at an appropriate hour and caveat emptor.

I guess Polish folks are pretty creative when they’re upset! That’s much more evocative than the Quebeçois cursing I hear of, and as I mentioned on your blog, I can’t swear in any other languages (doggone schools didn’t seem to think I might need it).

So you put PSIA KREW on your plate, but then there’s that problem… you’ll be the only one who knows what it is, and unless you’re standing behind the car, you can’t see it.

You could get the www and start a heavy metal band with a name like that, I think. Grab jugglah’s idea and run with it…

Bet you the License Bureau hasn’t banned “Psia Krew”. That’s what I’d like to get.

Learned it from my Dad.

It means “Dog’s blood”.

In Polish, it’s not quite as bad as Frak.

But it’s close…

We’re a weird society. The gov’t won’t allow that. But they’ll let you put the word “f**k” on your car. I know, because my neighbour down the street has custom made letters on his car telling us how the government is “f**king us” on his minivan.

(He’s a bit of a weirdo, though.)

Oh, and my fave little gem about North American sensibilities.

The movie “Die Hard” was on some satellite channel (can’t remember which) a while back.

So…

They bleeped out the word “f**k”, but then proceeded to show Bruce Willis killing about 10 or so people in a variety of gruesome ways.

With blood.

We don’t get it, I don’t think.

It’s okay to show a murder, but you can’t show a boob, or some folks making love.

Janet Jackson’s rather unimpressive nipple is a scandalous event, but CNN will show little bits and parts of people who were murdered by idiots at a market or a school in the Middle East.

We need a reality check.

So you couldn’t have a plate that reads “OBAMA08″ in Ontario? (Not that it would have much meaning, but…) If they say something like that, I hope they don’t pick and choose…

Yes, there are strict rules in Ontario for plates. About 10 (20?) years ago, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation revoked a vanity plate that was something like “NTFADA” because it was a reference to the Arabic word intifada, which means “rebellion” or something. It was in support of the Palestinians in Israel.

Someone caught on and complained so the plate was revoked, but there was a big uproar about pro-Palestinian, anti-Jewish, etc., and why would the government takes sides in something like that. The government said simply that it did not allow political messages of any kind.

Not quite sure how I felt about that one, though if it is taken as a racist slogan by some, I suppose it should be pulled…

Not, perhaps, the finest business statement ever, but yeah.

That’s why I’m not usually fond of them… they make the driver laugh, but he or she can’t see it, so what’s the point? Half of them don’t even mean anything to the rest of the world. This—simple paint on either side, and it’s a memorable ad. For as long as no one else is doing it, it will be very attention-getting.

Much better than one of those car magnets.

I’ve never seen it around here… do they have rules against foul language on plates? I guess they must, or Professor F. Meigh would probably be in every state in the Union, as well as every province in Canada.
