Brett,

I say the same things every day, and when I'm lucky I say them in fresh ways. Hope you found something new to inspire you in here!

Alex,

Whenever I hear that someone's keeping my words around for future reference it makes my day. Thanks for that!

Todd,

I just read the most interesting research saying that no matter the expertise we think we designers have in our field, our "educated" guesses get questions of basic usability and customer preferences wrong more often than a coin toss. Real-world user input increases our ability to get the "right" answers to near 100%.

So yep. ALWAYS get those outside opinions. I guarantee surprises.

Regards,

Kelly

Good thoughts, Kelly! I actually sat down yesterday and did an informal business plan. It really helped. I have a much better feel for measuring success. Now I need to add your questions to my list. I love that idea of paying customers to ask them their opinions!! Thank you.
