To Go Where Your VisionPoints, a few inspiration points for you and your business.
One thousand percent of the shots I don’t take don’t go in.
—Wayne Gretzky
In yesterday’s post here at MCE, I gave you five planning strategies so little-used, that I almost felt I was sharing my secrets with you—and one very important bonus strategy.
(You didn’t get a chance yet? Well, that’s okay, go read how to boost your future sales now. One thousand percent of the posts you don’t read, can’t boost your sales at all.)
I know how easy it is to put planning for growth on the get-around-to-it list. Some days planning past breakfast is a stretch! But believe me, of all the quotations I keep in my huge list of inspirations, it’s this from hockey’s nearly-immortal Wayne Gretzky, that I stop to linger on at least once a week, rolling the truth of it over and over in my mind, admiring the simple brilliance of his version of “seize the day.”
My version is that quietly commanding bonus strategy.
Begin today, dear friends and readers, to make real improvements at your place of business. Or else today’s score is guaranteed to be grim—1000% is a mighty large fail rate.
What can you do right now, today, to take a shot on your goal? What’s stopping you?
Grow and be well,
Kelly Erickson

“One thousand percent of the shots I take don’t go in…but I still make more money in a year than most of you make in your lifetimes”.
(What Wayne REALLY meant)

Friar,
Yeah, I had to clean it up for him.
Smart guy, that Gretzky.

I guess the “one thousand percent” is also an indication of the math skills of the average NHL player, eh?

What’s stopping you? The fact I’m taking the kids to Great Adventure tomorrow?
‘course, I’ll be able to find an Internet connection hopefully…..

Friar,
Now that just wrecks my saying “smart guy.” LOL.
Barbara,
I took a long, delightful drive with The Kid to see family recently and noticed that people in the rest areas were letting their kids eat while they checked their email or whatever on their laptops… I know, not so remarkable, but what bugged me was that I thought, “Hey, she wouldn’t mind, maybe I’ll just go get mine….” Then I slapped myself and got over it.
When you’re at The Great Adventure, time with kids IS the shot on goal. Other goals will wait, right? Have a wonderful time!
Until later,
Kelly
