The tougher solution, then, is the way to go for our business problems this year.
What could we find in working toward that more difficult solution?
Something messy—like the dozens of little micro-steps from awareness of your company all the way through post-sale follow-up, that add up to great Experiences for our customers. And need your attention.
Something implausible—like the fact that even in this electronic age of friending and liking and reviewing and Yelping, word-of-mouth from one real, live, friend or colleague to another is still (more social than anything online and) the most effective “advertising” vehicle you have—and it’s still the one you can’t (directly) control.
Something right—like the truth that never changes. Do right by your customer—truly right, not faking it for long enough to complete the sale—and you ARE doing right for your company.
BUT… I’m wondering.
How many of us would rather do anything than “work toward that more difficult solution,” no matter the rewards for our businesses? Are we willing to move past easy solutions?
